See a high-energy, funky, folky band that offers a New Orleans groove.
Raised in the Bronx by her aunt Nereida, Puerto Rican Alynda Lee Segarra developed her eye for life as a young teenage punk hopping freight trains across America before settling in sultry New Orleans. As NPR rightly put it, "Segarra's morning-after alto might be the least showy great voice to hit the national scene." Call it folk-blues, call it Americana, call it what you will, but Hurray for the Riff Raff promises to turn the Volcano Room into the French Quarter with a high-energy, funky, folky N’Awlins groove.
