As Chris and Cody enter their senior year, their lives and hopes
for the future take dramatically different directions.
As Chris and Cody enter their senior year, their lives and hopes
for the future take dramatically different directions. Chris has
moved out of his father's home. Burdened with expenses, he drops
out of school entirely. Cody, meanwhile, continues to do well in
his studies. He and Jessica are talking about marriage and plan to
attend college together. He tells his pastor he's thinking of
becoming a preacher. Chris'teachers convince him to study for his
GED and then secure a free apartment for him so he can concentrate
on his studies. When he passes his GED, he learns he will graduate
with his class. Cody, to his surprise, is chosen valedictorian of
the class. Chris decides to apply to a local college, but, as so
often happens with Chris, this new hope will soon be followed by
new setbacks.
