as animal emotions. Can animals experience pleasure and
sadness in much the same ways that we do? Are they capable of
jealousy, frustration, feelings of abandonment? Can they take a
sense of pride in a job well done? Many humans, based on their own
observations, would say the answers are obviously affirmative. That
may be true, but this is an area where the dangers of
anthropomorphism are especially acute.
