Join Tom Brokaw, Kelli O'Hara, Laurie Anderson, Wynton Marsalis
and others as they salute one of the country's most storied venues,
Alice Tully Hall, in its final concert before closing
for renovations.
This star-studded gala concert, saluting one of the country's most
storied venues, Alice Tully Hall, is the final concert in the hall
before the lights go out to complete renovations. The program
incorporates segments from the concert with narrative feature clips
that pay tribute to the legendary venue and footage of what's in
store when the hall re-opens in fall 2008 at the start of Lincoln
Center's 50th anniversary season. Tom Brokaw emcees; musicians and
singers who have made frequent appearances at Alice Tully Hall
perform. The lineup includes the Juilliard Orchestra, under the
baton of David Robertson, joined by trumpeter and Jazz at Lincoln
Center Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis and vocalist Kelli O'Hara.
Composer Philip Glass makes a rare appearance performing one of his
solo piano etudes; Laurie Anderson also performs. Members of the
Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall's
resident company, play Mendelssohn.
