Sir John decides to host a weekend shooting party; Chef Dubiard
takes revenge.
Sir John decides to host a weekend shooting party. Miss Anson, Lady
Olliff-Cooper's unmarried sister, is finding her life unbearably
repressive and, by the end of the episode, leaves the manor. When
Sir John criticizes the food in front of guests, Chef Dubiard takes
revenge, preparing a grand dish in the authentic Edwardian style -
a pig's head, which is carried into the dining room and sliced
before the horrified eyes of the family. But the dutiful butler,
Mr. Edgar, is devastated at having let his master down and a rift
occurs between them. Master Guy, the Olliff-Coopers' young son, is
getting bored with the novelty of Edwardian life; true to the era,
he spends more time with the servants than with his parents. The
hall boy, Kenny, and the new scullery maid, Ellen, are enjoying a
budding, but forbidden, romance.
