Foyle must solve a brutal murder amid tensions between black American GIs and locals. 

Black American GIs waiting to be shipped home from their camp near Hastings find themselves unwelcome by locals. Tensions are complicated by a mixed-race baby who lives with her English mother in a rooming house run by Foyle's former driver, Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks), and her friend Adam (Max Brown). A brutal murder ensues, and Foyle must solve it.
