THE DIFFERENT FACES OF UNEMPLOYMENT: A JOBS SPECIAL REPORT This week, NEED TO KNOW profiles different faces of unemployment, beginning with a Portland, Oregon, couple--Baby Boomers who have lost their business and cannot find work. When NEED TO KNOW meets them, they are selling off possessions in an effort to avoid losing their home.
In a second story, NEED TO KNOW looks at two younger people, Millennials as they're called, who are having no luck getting jobs. One is a young college graduate searching for her first job, the other, a man who is underemployed.
The third story examines a temporary jobs program funded by the federal government.
In between each segment, Jon Meacham and Alison Stewart are joined by Clinton administration labor secretary Robert Reich and Sara Horowitz, founder and CEO of the Freelancers Union, who provide perspective, suggestions and potential solutions to the jobless crisis.
The program ends with an animated editorial from cartoonist Steve Brodner.
