Bob Dickinson of Carnival Cruises.
Carnival Cruises specializes in low-cost, high-volume holidays, but
a recession has hit the U.S. and there is fierce competition from
land-based holidays. To keep prices down, some staff members are
paid just $1.50 a day and rely on tips for compensation. To find
out if his staff can still deliver top-quality service at
rock-bottom prices, Bob Dickinson boards MS Imagination at Miami
for a week's cruise in the Caribbean. Over the next five days, he
tries his hand at various jobs around the ship.
