Breathtaking music, glowing candlelight and the robed choristers
of Luther College capture the wonder and joy of the holiday season.
For nearly three decades, Luther College has been sharing the gift
of music with audiences far and near through televised
performances. This special features performances by six choirs, the
symphony orchestra, organ, hand bell choir, Christmas Brass and
Percussion Ensemble; caroling; and the signature lighting of
candles that encircle the audience in light. The performing
ensembles include: Nordic Choir, Luther's premier mixed-voice
70-member choral ensemble; Norsemen, a first-year student choir
composed of 80 men; Pike Kor, the college's 100-member first-year
women's choir; Cathedral Choir, a sophomore choir of 100 men and
women; Collegiate Chorale, an 85-member mixed voice ensemble of
juniors and seniors; Cantorei, a choral ensemble of 60 women; and
the Luther College Symphony Orchestra, comprising nearly 85 student
musicians. Luther's music program is renowned for its tradition of
excellence.
